Title: Simply Yes or No- A Call to Integrity
Speaker: Pastor Adam Sharkey
Text: Matthew 5:33-37 (NKJV)

Today's Big Idea:
Kingdom people live with consistent, wholehearted integrity–
because we are always in the presence of God.

                           ***
Transition: A Culture of Words Without Integrity.

1. We sign contracts and still look for loopholes.
2. We brand ourselves online and call it authenticity.
3. We say what people want to hear.

The Misuse of Oaths:

Matthew 5:33-37; Numbers 30:2; Deuteronomy 23:211-23; Leviticus 19:12

How the Law was Broken.
1. Frivolous swearing.
2. Evasive swearing.
3. Manipulative swearing.

Implication: Every Word is Said Before the Lord.

Application Point 1: God is not playing your game.
Application Point 2: Integrity means wholeness.
Application Point 3: Integrity is practice; not a performance.

Why Does Integrity Matter So Much?

Dishonesty is an assault on the character of God.
Dishonesty exploits the people God loves.

“We make men without chests and expect of them virtue and enterprise. We laugh at honor and are shocked to find traitors in our midst. We castrate and bid the geldings be fruitful.” ~ C.S. Lewis
